iDelft completed a unique Aerial Image Mosaic of The Netherlands. More than 3500 images with a size over 2.6 TB were combined. The Mosaic is a snapshot of The Netherlands in 2011. Additional information is available. 30 September 2011iDelft participated in the GIS Conference 2011 that took place on 28 and 29 September 2011 (De Doelen, Rotterdam). We demonstrated 3D visualizations using a game engine and geographic data that can be ordered through our www.Bestel3D.nl website. 16 August 2011The new DKLN2011 aerial imagery set is currently in the final production phase and will be made available for the whole of The Netherlands. Samples can be loaded from the Download section. Contact iDelft in order to get an overview of DKLN2011 availablity. 12 August 2011iDelft sold city models to five major Dutch municipalities over the last month. In addition, datasets were sold to the provinces Noord-Holland and Limburg. A clear trend is visible whereby public organisations decide to directly purchase geographic datasets (rather than indirectly using geographic data from engineering firms). There is an increased interest in vegatation data (as part of the Vector-NL set) in order to support air quality studies. Examples are available through the Download page. Smaller models can be ordered through the site: www.Bestel3D.nl. 28 June 2011iDelft has compared the accuracy of the building height with the Algemene Hoogtemodel Nederland (AHN-2, Dutch General Elevation Model) in an example area form Breda. While the AHN-2 is recorded using laser altimetry recording devices, Vector-NL is derived from stereophotos (summer 2008). The height results are very similar for both datasets, as described in the elevation data and AHN-2 brochure. The dataset has, besides a competitive price, unique characteristics. It can be ordered in www.Bestel3D.nl. 13 May 2011iDelft has made an Information over CityGML brochure where the process of creation of a 3D mock-up is explained. It represents a part of Rotterdam, but any area of The Netherlands can be modeled within minutes. 15 March 2011iDelft has joined today for the last time the 3D Pilot organized by, among others, Kadaster, GeoNovum and TU-Delft. iDelft has supporter this program with presentations, Open 3D Converter software 3.7, mock-ups and CityGML files. iDelft is collaborating with 3D print service companies to create physical mock-ups based on the Zprinter technology. The Zprinter was brought to The Netherlands by the company Duoteq. More information in the information brochure about 3D printing technologies and physical mock-ups. 4 October 2010 iDelft has updated the information site of www.Bestel3D.nl. This was required because the DTM-NL 2008 describes the surface in a different way than in the old DTM set. Bridges, for example, are now included. This extends the possibilities and applications of the data. 1 October 2010 iDelft released a new version of the freeware software Open3D Data Converter. This new version of the software (v3.6) makes possible to convert 2D Shape polygons into: KML/KMZ, CityGML, Shape Multipatch and OBJ format. De conversion software is developed by iDelft to turn different geographic data into a CityGML 3D file. The software is aimed to create wide area representations of cities and towns. The required data can be obtained through the ordering servicewww.Bestel3D.nl. 24 September 2010 The Automatiseringsgids published an article (in Dutch) about iDelft's Digital Watermarking project . Through Digital Watermarking it is possible to embed invisible information into digital imagery. 23 September 2010 iDelft took part of the GIS conference (22-23 September 2010) in De Doelen (Rotterdam). iDelft's stand was located in the 3D pavilion and contained information related to the subject of 3D data and modeling. All iDelft brochures were available. 28 July 2010 From middle 2010, ESRI(R) has a new version of ArcGIS available, ArcGIS 10. The aim of the new version is providing better tools to manage 3D data. ArcGIS 10 and 3D Data processing brochureexplains how ArcGIS 10 (ArcScene) can be used to modify and extend 3D data. 27 July 2010 For some years, iDelft has sold building height data derived from stereophotos. This dataset represents buildings as blocks with flat rooftops. This representation is enough for many applications (e.g. environmental calculations) but insufficient for others (e.g. visualization). For this reason, iDelft has started work to create detailed 3D models derived from laser altimetry data like the Algemene Hoogtemodel Nederland (AHN-2, Dutch General Elevation Model) currently developed by different remote sensing companies. ITC, from Enschede, is helping with this task. The sites offer example products and providers. I.e., iDelft shows aerial imagery. 21 May 2010 iDelft announces that new Vector-NL object height and DTM ground levels are available. The data is derived from stereophotos (summer 2008) and is available for the whole Dutch soil (Vector-NL: buildings, greenhouses, vegetation, industry and water; DTM-NL: roads, dykes, railroads, bridges, etc.). The required data can be obtained through the ordering servicewww.Bestel3D.nl and a sample can be downloaded from the CityGML site 12 March 2010 The development of a webpage to visualize the location and characteristics of wind turbines in The Netherlands was ordered by Agentschap-NL (SenterNovem, EVD and Octrooicentrum Nederland). .NET and OpenLayers technology was used with OpenStreetMaps data. 12 February 2010 A collaboration between the Ministry of Interior Affairs and Defense has given order to iDelft to deliver digital map data for a websystem. Approximately 500 simultaneous users can access theOpenbare Orde en Veiligheids (OOV) system. iDelft was chosen due to its experience in large scale digital data processing. 29 January 2010 iDelft received a contract from ProRail (the Dutch railway infrastructure authority). ProRail orders the delivery of a countrywide terrrain elevation data set and an objects height data set. Refined noise prediction models will be constructed with the data to assess environmental problems along the railway network.

iDelft finished a test with the Google Earth plug-in in combination with the Vector-NL data set. A sample page was created. 10 July 2009 iDelft started a project for TNO (the Dutch R&D organization). Based on plug-in technology, iDelft is building software to load geographic data from a webservice into MS Office applications. 6 July 2009 iDelft is creating one mosaic for the whole of The Netherlands. The input is 2500 GB of imagery (tiles). To accomplish this task, a new processing infrastructure was set up. This mosaic will be the largest aerial image in The Netherlands revealing 25 cm / pixel details. 1 July 2009 An international organization awarded iDelft a Research & Developmenty (R&D) contract . The project includes imagery processing and security. Advanced GIS and analysis techniques will be applied. The project initially runs until March 2010. 4 June 2009 iDelft finished the first part of a GIS project for Vodafone Int. The project includes Data preparation, Licensing, On-site training and Helpdesk support. The applied GIS technology is MapInfo Professional in combination with grid data. 11 February 2009 iDelft continued a project for local Dutch environmental authorities aimed at checklists and regulations. The software features a distributed architecture and consists of: database storage, data preparation, print-outs and web-links. The software was created in Javascript and ASP .NET.

iDelft completed a major project: www.Bestel3D.nl. This is the first Dutch automated 3D data ordering system aimed at engineering firms and public organisations. The software features a distributed architecture ad consists of: User management and Validation, Database storage, Data Preparation and Handling including Invoicing. The software was created in C# and ASP .NET plus Web services. 20 November 2008 iDelft announces the availability of a free Open Source program which can be downloaded from theDownloads section of the iDelft website. The program is called Open3D DataConverter and enables users to convert geographical files (in the Shape format) to either the KMZ or the KML file formats. The files can then subsequently be displayed within a 3D program like Google Earth. iDelft delivers building data as part of the Vector-NL data set. The Open3D DataConverter programma was sponsored by Senter/Novem (IPC program within ICT-Kring Delft). 22 August 2008 iDelft maintains its position as the leading suppier of 3D GIS data in The Netherlands. We received this week two major orders from environmental agencies for large coverages in the western part of The Netherlands. Both DTM-NL and Vector-NL data sets were sold. 21 July 2008 iDelft completed a major GIS project for Aviodrome, the Dutch national aerospace museum. A huge historical aerial imagery mosaic was delivered. The mosaic will be part of the pemanent exhibition and shows the western part of The Netherlands in 1938.

iDelft moved to a new office (downtown Delft). The building originally accommodated a bank and was specially designed in 1897 to fit in the setting of Delft. 9 August 2007 iDelft received a contract from the municipality of Rotterdam (the second largest city in the Netherlands) to deliver a complete data structure concerning buildings, vegetation, water and industrial objects. Rotterdam intends to enhance the in-house data quality and update frequency. 15 July 2007 iDelft started a data modeling project for several large municipalities. The project is aimed at defining data structures and to facilitate data exchange by introducing common definitions (environmental control related data). 11 June 2007 iDelft started a software project for the central Dutch police organisation in The Netherlands. The project is aimed at providing aerial imagery to all dispatch (911) organisations throughout the country. The project is fixed price and will enable the customer to view the full extend of The Netherlands in a Google- type of environment. 1 June 2007 iDelft announces that it received an order from the province of Groningen for the delivery of an digital elevation model. Groningen is the third province (in addition to Utrecht and Gelderland) to use the elevation data for noise modeling. 10 April 2007 iDelft received a number of individual orders from international customers (including Siemens) for MapInfo Professional licenses. Customers will achieve better situational awareness as a result. 15 February 2007 iDelft released a XML based capability to enhance NATO’s situational awareness. The software allows NATO (one of the major iDelft customers) to access a so-called REST service and to automatically transfer incident information into a database system. 1 January 2007 iDelft adapted the quotation and ordering website for the sale of aerial imagery. The website enables customers to view and order imagery and to load brochures.
